Way to Work: giving young people a step up

WAY TO WORK: GIVING YOU YOUR BEST CHANCE

Four years ago, we started a journey. Youth unemployment was critically high, employers were disillusioned with the upcoming generation of workers, and school, college and university leavers saw their dreams fade as they struggled to find their place in the world of work.

That’s where our mission started, and since then we’ve worked with thousands of young people across the globe: motivating; advising; encouraging; inspiring.

As one of the biggest – and most influential – staffing agencies in the world, we’re in a unique position. We understand the stumbling blocks on the path to a meaningful career, but we also understand what employers need from their new recruits. And that’s why we worked so hard to make this year’s Way to Work a huge success.

CEO FOR ONE MONTH: BE YOUR OWN BOSS

We’re big on ambition at Adecco Group. We believe the sky is the limit, and we believe in pushing you to find where your own limits lie – then finding ways to smash them. Our ‘CEO for one month’ programme is just one of those ways.

As part of our Way to Work campaign, we offer one young person the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to spend the month of July calling the shots. Under the mentorship of UK & Ireland CEO John Marshall, our successful candidate will get practical coaching through the exciting world of work, a huge boost for their career, and a generous salary to boot.

They will also get the chance to go head-to-head with contenders from other countries to become our Global CEO for one month − running a Fortune 500 company alongside Adecco Group’s Global CEO, Alain Dehaze.

Following an intense selection process assessing over 1,200 applications, we invited our top 6 candidates to attend an assessment day at our head office in London. If you want to see how our top 6 got on, have a look at the video below.
