BBP helps disadvantaged jobseekers return to work

A team from hyphen in Birmingham struck up a partnership with their local housing association, Bromford Housing, which helps young people and families lacking parental support. Led by Nikki Black, hyphen’s BBP team staged workshops for people keen to benefit from hyphen’s knowledge of the recruitment marketplace in a bid to return to work, after facing certain challenges in their lives.

So far, the team has provided advice on job applications and approaching the jobs market in general, as well as offering hints and tips around CV writing. The team will also be conducting interview role plays as the next stage of their initiative.

Win4youth

Adecco HQ has launched a challenge for all colleagues across our 60 countries to run – our goal is to circle the world 24 times until we clock up 1 million km. For every 5 km  Adecco Global will donate one US dollar to charitable foundations so the more we run the more money we’ll raise to educate children so that when the time comes, they are better prepared to find work.

Marc Herremans

Marc was twice Belgian Champion in triathlon over an Olympic distance. In 2001, he was placed 6th at the Ironman of Hawaii, widely regarded as the toughest triathlon competition in the world.

Despite a cycling accident during training that left him paralysed from his chest to his toes, Marc participated in the Ironman of Hawaii in 2002, only 10 months after his accident. He participated again every following year. In 2006, he won the Ironman of Hawaii in the category for wheelchair athletes.

We are very proud to say we that Mark has become the ‘godfather’ of Win4Youth 2012.

Bouverie and BBP makes it easier to boost miles for Win4Youth

After clocking up an incredible 324,920 kilometres in the 2011 Win4Youth initiative, Adecco Group UK & Ireland has been doing its bit to help reach the Group’s 2012 goal of swimming, cycling or running 1,000,000 kilometres. But because everyone doesn’t always get time to build the miles out of work, a number of exercise bikes have been installed at Bouverie Street and Birmingham Business Park
